Video Blog

November 9, 2004
I have displayed a few short video clips on here in the past (See "Bloggers hit the Big Time" on Sept. 14).
I plan on doing this more often and perhaps adding in a few Vblogs of my own. Sorry if I use you all as my guinea pigs...

Heading back out to the polls

I am going to continue a little field work out at the polls. I will continue to blog when I return.

I have volunteered to cover ABC News' coverage of the election tonight to provide up to the minute results for The Command Post - 2004 Presidential Election.

Live Blogging the Election

I have been honored with the opportunity to Live Blog the election from a Detroit perspective on The Command Post.

Around 84 people are contributing to this historical event.

I noticed a heavy police presence at my voting precinct. My daughter's school (also a precinct) had police activity as well.

Problems Reported As Election Day Begins

Upper Peninsula Briefs

November 1, 2004
MLive tells an interesting story about current Governor of Mass. Mitt Romney.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) — The governor of Sen. John Kerry's home state wanted to campaign in the Upper Peninsula for President Bush, but had to settle for a phone call.

Mitt Romney, the Republican governor of Massachusetts, planned to visit Marquette last Friday but his flight was canceled because of heavy fog. Instead, Romney spoke by phone to about 50 people at the Marquette County GOP headquarters.

"We are counting on you," Romney said. "My state's not worth talking about. It's Kerry's state, and our votes won't count too much here."

Romney, son of former Michigan Gov. George Romney, said he had known Kerry for 30 years and believed he wasn't a "bad person." But Romney said he feared the country would fall into recession and be less safe with Kerry in the White House.

Detroit: Local News Election Coverage

I grabbed 2 quick videos off tonight's early local news in Detroit.

WDIV had a quick poll to report on which shows Kerry ahead in Michigan with 50% to Bush's 47%. This clip shows the details.

WXYZ had a story about misleading phonecalls going out to local voters. I referenced these calls in an earlier post.

I will continue to use my trusty Sony Vaio to grab some video feeds.
